Don Carlos Notturno Horn Shaped Pipe W/ Facet Long Shank

Frankly, I didn’t know whether to call this Bruto Sordini piece a horn shape or a Cobra shape, but finally opted on the former although I won’t be offended if you think differently. It is a large and beautiful pipe with swirling birdseye and cross grain all over the place. Sordini often gives highly contrasting stain pipes that he makes the “Notturno” name (it means “night” in Italian), and this pipe has no cleft notes designation either. What I think really makes this pipe nice is the way Sordini created a facet long shank. I know how hard that is to create after hearing from other pipe makers, and it speaks volumes about the creative skill (for many decades), of this outstanding pipe maker. This piece has been smoked just a few times and is super clean and the stem is bite mark free.
