Jack Howell Acorn Shaped Straight Grain Pipe W/ Exotic Wood Shank Trim

Pipe maker Jack Howell has had a quite varied career. He is a clarinetist for several Orchestras and a teacher at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. Fortunately for us, he also makes pipes! Although he makes a variety of shapes, I always associate the Acorn with Howell’s work because I have seen many beautiful examples of that shape made from his creative hands. This is certainly a nice one with tremendous balance, beautiful grain, nice exotic wood shank extension and d wafer thin, yet sturdy stem. This pipe has been very lightly smoked and boasts a super clean bowl interior and the stem is bite mark free. If it smokes as good as it looks, the buyer is going to be in pipe smoker’s heaven!

Pipe Size & Weight:

  • Length: 5-1/4 inches
  • Bowl Height: 2-1/2 inches
  • Rim width: 1.2 inches
  • Chamber width: .70 inches
  • Weight: 46.8 grams

Please Note: All previously owned and smoked pipes in Pipestud’s Consignment Shop have had the tobacco chambers reamed (if needed), and the exteriors polished. No internal cleaning has been done as I leave that very personal part of the ready to smoke process up to each buyer. I never sell estate pipes with undisclosed issues. If you are not totally satisfied with your purchase, all you need to do is return the pipe to me in the same condition that you received it in (you cannot have smoked the pipe), and you will receive an immediate refund including any shipping fees you incurred.
