Charles Rattray 1970’s and McConnell’s 1980’s era Rattray’s Three Noggins 4 oz tins
These Rattray’s Three Noggins tins have the pictorial lid opening instructions, all but one have the gold tin bottoms (the other silver), and the weight listed in ounces, indicating that the gold bottom tins are Charles Rattray, Perth production while the silver bottomed tin is a later McConnell’s era. Kind of confusing, right? Anyway, during both time periods the tin labels still said “Blended by Charles Rattray at Perth, Scotland.” Someone handed dated a few of these tins to 1991, but that had to be the year of purchase. All I do know is that some mighty fine old leaf leaf awaits you! Similar to 7 Reserve as both blends have Black Cavendish, Latakia, Oriental/Turkish and Virginia leaf, but 3 Noggins is much fuller in taste.
