Van Rossem’s Schippers Tabak 3-1/2oz Dented tin – 1970’s – 1980’s era (Lot #2)

Original price was: $250.00.Current price is: $200.00.

I always loved the tin art on this old classic from Van Rossem and made in Holland. The weight is listed in both grams and ounces, and was made at some point in the 1970’s or early 1980’s prior to the switch of ounces only. As noted in one of the listing photos, this tin has a noticeable but non-compromising dent on the side of the tin, thus a substantial discount in price for this one. With the help of Google, this is what I came up with regarding Schippers Tabak:

Profile & Characteristics
  • The Blend: A traditional Dutch-style loose cut featuring orange Virginia, dark air-cured Burley, and fire-cured Kentucky.
  • Flavor: Earthy and lightly smoky with subtle notes of chocolate, offering a profile similar to a mild Semois.
  • Cut: A very fine shag/loose cut, traditionally intended for roll-your-own cigarettes or thin-bowled pipes.
  • Strength: Mild to medium.
