A&C Petersen’s Bengal Slices 50g tins – Late 1980’s or early 1990’s era (One Tin Per Customer)
$275.00
(One Tin Per Customer) – Bengal Slices was, originally, the flake version of Balkan Sobranie and made by the House of Sobranie from the 1970’s through the early 1980’s. When Gallaher took over the Sobranie mixtures, they found the composition too complex and costly, so they simplified it. After Gallaher stopped making the simplified Bengal Slices, Mr James B Russell arranged for a composition similar to the Gallaher revision to be made exclusively for them by A & C Petersen, Horsens, Denmark. And that is where these tins were produced. They contained some of the finest Latakia, Orientals and Virginia tobaccos of that time. So, these tins should be wonderful in both condition and flavor, and certainly boast a lot of age!
