Charatan’s Original English Mixture 50g tins – 1970’s era & Made by Dunhill in London

A super find here! Made for Charatan by the Dunhill factory until the late 1970’s when the Charatan recipes were sold to an Import company called Tor Imports, which sat on the blends for decades and then in 2017, partnered up with Kopp in Germany to resurect the Charatan blends. Bottom line, this is the original Dunhill factory made English Mixture (now called Royal Ensign Mixture), and boasts no less than 45-years of age. Per tobaccoreviews.com: “A traditional English mixture that sets the standard. The finest grades of Cyprus latakia and Oriental tobacco from the Mediterranaen are blended with flue cured grades from East Carolina and Georgia and lighly toasted in dry drums to enhance the flavour. A good alternative to Dunhill’s Standard Mixture.”
