Charatan’s Original Light Aromatic – 1970’s era & Made by Dunhill

Made for Charatan by the Dunhill factory until the late 1970’s when the Charatan recipes were sold to an Import company called Tor Imports, which sat on the blends for decades and then in 2017, partnered up with Kopp in Germany to resurect the Charatan blends. Bottom line, this is the original Dunhill factory made Light Aromatic and boasts no less than 45-years of age. I smoked a tin of this one back in 2017, and here’s what I came away with when writing a review for tobaccoreviews.com: “Charatan “Blue” as the old timers called this one (and I guess I am one), was a simple natural top coated Virginia Cavendish that had a hint of some sort of fermented fruit. Made for Charatan by Dunhill (reportedly), in the 1960s and 1970s, the leaf has stood the test of time. Nice and smooth and the hint of aromatic flavoring was still there. A cool, dry, old world style of aromatic we just don’t see anymore. “
