Douwe Egberts of Holland House Blend Aromatic 2oz tins – 1970’s era (One Tin Per Customer)

(One Tin Per Customer) – Douwe Egberts of Holland, most famously noted for giving us the great line-up of various Amphora blends, once manufactured and sold it’s only house blends (House Blend Regular and House Blend Aromatic), back in the 1970’s. This is the aromatic version that consisted of an added mysterious light topping to the recipe, which consisted of a very shag cut  Burley, Virginia  and Virginia Cavendish. I had the pleasure of smoking a tin of the Aromatic version back in 2015, and here is my review from tobaccoreviews.com: “I absolutely fell in love with this blend after grabbing a tin off of eBay a couple of years ago. Deep and dark shag cut with an old fashioned, natural casing of some sort combined to make the Virginia and Burley really shine. Lots of strength in this one and the rich, deep flavor of both was mesmerizing. The tobacco, I guess due to the cut, burns really fast, but without heat or bite. I sure wish this tobacco was still on the cyber-shelves!”
