I am pleased to report that after a long and diligent search for just the right alternative to PayPal, we have teamed up with Authorize.Net in order to be able to accept all major credit card payments directly. Authorize.Net is a United States based payment gateway service provider, allowing merchants to accept credit card and electronic check payments through their website and over an Internet Protocol connection. Founded in 1996, Authorize.Net is now a subsidiary of Visa Inc. So, while my current PayPal issue is still unresolved, and even after resolution, you are now able to make your purchases directly using a credit card. And of upmost importance in our vetting process for a gateway service provider, Authorize.Net is the entity that services your credit card payments and keeps your records secure. Pipestud.com Will NOT have access to anyone’s credit card information. Internet Protocol (IP) is a protocol, or set of rules, for routing and addressing packets of data so that they can travel across networks and arrive at the correct destination securely. Authorize.Net is one of the world’s largest and safest gateway service providers and they’ve never had a breach of security in their 25-years of operation.
My brilliant webmaster, Andrew, worked closely with Authorize.Net in packaging the necessary software to make your shopping experience go as smoothly as possible. You will notice very little change in the checkout process. The only difference is that you will be making your payment with a credit card rather than PayPal – at least for now. And for those of you who are already registered on this website, all of your personal information, including your shipping address, remains in the system. There will be no need to reregister. PLEASE NOTE! Until further notice, you must be registered with an account on my website. You cannot checkout as a guest. We are working on the issue that is preventing us from allowing guest checkout, but I am not sure how long that will take. So again, you must be registered with an account on the website so that your credit card orders can be received.
With the new system in place, and due to the uniqueness of this website, I can’t eliminate those dastardly backorders that occur when two people make purchases and pay in under two seconds of each other. And because credit card payments are routed differently than when going directly to PayPal, there may sometimes be a delay in your receiving your order and payment confirmation. Also, when multiple purchases are made the same day, I still refund the extra shipping fee(s), but because purchases are now routed through your credit card provider rather than directly into my PayPal account, refunds will often be delayed by one or two business days.
